I bought the kitesurfing anchor and it really works. I was skeptical but used in Chicago on a fairly windy day.
Ideally it is buried in wet sand closer to the water but if not I recommend you bury in moist packed sand and pack the sand on top very well. Make sure the lead is lateral and not angled upward when connecting the chicken loop. The anchor held very well in 20+ knot wind with a 13.5meter kite. I wouldn’t recommend in gusty and gradient type winds as the kite won’t remain on wind window consistantly.

Perfect. Used it in 30 knt with a 12m & the kite stayed perfectly still.
Small accessory that fits easily in the bag and greatly helps when you’re riding solo. A must have!
